Community Ambassador Conversation

Community Ambassador Conversation

Time: June 18, 2026 @ 5:30 pm – June 18, 2026 @ 7:30 pm

We invite you to join us at our Community Ambassador Conversation to raise awareness about the critical issue of healthy homes, specifically lead poisoning and asthma.

Lead poisoning and asthma are significant health concerns affecting individuals and families in our community. In Kent County, deteriorating lead-based paint and lead dust in homes cause an estimated 90% of all childhood lead poisoning. Asthma is the leading cause of missed school days and emergency room visits, affecting 9.6% of children nationally. These conditions can have long-lasting effects on the physical and mental well-being of those involved, particularly children.

We can make a difference in addressing these issues by coming together as a community. We aim to raise awareness, advocate for policy changes, and provide resources and support to those affected by lead poisoning and asthma. We want to invite you to join us in this critical endeavor. Together, we can create healthier homes and a safer environment for all. Your voice matters.

Dinner and childcare will be provided.

If you want to get involved, please take a few moments to complete the surveyhttps://forms.office.com/r/Dft8yEPW24?origin=lprLink

Your input is highly valuable, and we appreciate your dedication to improving the health and well-being of our community. If you have any questions, please get in touch with Samika Douglas at Samika@healthyhomescoalition.org or 616.500.0479.
