Corey is the founder of Navisure Insurance Group in Grand Rapids. Prior to opening his agency, he worked various positions within the insurance industry. 

Corey began his work with Healthy Homes by volunteering on the development committee and has since joined the board. 

Corey lives in Grand Rapids with his wife and two children.  In his free time he enjoys cooking, spending time with family and fly fishing.

Jameela Maun

Executive Director

Jameela is passionate about serving families and communities and is a strong advocate for safe and affordable housing. She is dedicated to advancing the core mission and values of Healthy Homes Coalition to ensure all children grow up in healthy homes that are free from environmental hazards.

Jameela is devoted to her family, serving others, advocating for social justice, and being an agent for change. She and her husband, Don, have four children: Kieryngton, Kingston, Maeleigh, and Maverick. They love going to the beach, playing games, and listening to music. When Jameela is not spending time with her family, she enjoys reading, shopping, and being an important member of the Beyoncé Beyhive!

Shelby Buis

Healthy Housing Specialist

Shelby has worked at Healthy Homes for over a year. During her time, she has served as the Intake Specialist and Healthy Housing Specialist. One of Shelby’s favorite parts of her job is working with families. She loves sharing information with them! One quote that has stuck with Shelby this past year is “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of the cure.” Shelby applies this to the work being done at Healthy Homes and how we try to prevent hazards in the home!

Shelby is origninally from the metro Detroit area. She went to Calvin University and graduated with her Bachelors in Social Work.

In her free time, Shelby enjoys reading, watching new movies and shows, exercising, walking outside, swimming, crocheting, painting, and cooking. Shelby loves coffee and enjoys checking out coffee shops in Grand Rapids!

Samika Douglas

Community Organizer

Samika joined the Healthy Homes team in January of 2024 as the Community Organizer, but she is not new to the organization. From 2018 to 2021, Samika was a Parent/Community Advocate for Parents for Healthy Homes where she led community resource planning to support families of children with lead poisoning. Samika holds an Associate degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology from Muskegon Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Ferris State University.

Samika brings over 20 years of professional advocacy and civic engagement experience from the public and private sectors. In her spare time, she serves as the voice for the community on numerous councils, committees, and boards.

Alexandria Hamilton

Intake Specialist

Alexandria is passionate about nonprofits and dedicated to serving her community. She is committed to connecting individuals with essential resources and opportunities to foster positive change. Her goal is to make meaningful impact through collaboration and community service.  

Outside of work, Alexandria loves spending time outdoors with her family and friends, especially trips to the beach during the summertime. She also enjoys exploring various events and actives throughout the city.

NICOLE Harrell

Bookkeeper

Nicole has a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Sustainable Business from Aquinas College. Her background includes work in both for-profit and nonprofit construction, real estate and property management.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading, thrifting, and spending time with family.

Davyn Hollamon

Program Assistant

Davyn joined Healthy Homes in July of 2024 as a Program Assistant. She has always had a passion for serving others in any way possible. Previously she has worked for a non-profit named Project Starburst in Big Rapids, providing families with food, toilet trees, and resources available. She is very excited to expand her knowledge and work with the individuals and families of West Michigan. Her goal is to make even the smallest change in the community here at Healthy Homes! 

In her free time, Davyn enjoys watching one of her many shows, working out, grilling with her friends and family, playing cards, board or video games, and she loves trying new things!

DANA HULST

Program Manager

Dana has her Bachelor’s in Psychology and Recreational Therapy. Prior to joining Healthy Homes, she spent 5 years working in disability services, providing case management, therapy, and support to kids and families. Dana is passionate about person-centered care and equity and inclusion work. 

Outside of work, Dana enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends, playing most any sport, and hiking Michigan trails with her wife.

Stephanie McKendry

Director of Progamming

Stephanie has her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Grand Valley State University. She began working in the non-profit sector in 2009. Prior to joining Healthy Homes Coalition, she worked in the employment and housing sectors of non-profit.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, practicing and teaching yoga, gardening, reading, and being outdoors. She is excited to be a part of the Healthy Homes team!

Joseph NGUYen

Healthy Housing Specialist

Joseph has his Master’s degree in Public Health from Grand Valley State University. He has experience serving in the community mental health setting and is committed to providing education and promoting better health outcomes for families in the community.  

Joseph’s hobbies include playing videogames, and watching movies and anime with friends. Relating to others shared interests over these medias and geeking out together is always a great bonding moment! 

Victoria Patton

Communications & Development Specialist 

Victoria is an alumna of Michigan State University where she got her bachelor’s degree in Communications. She’s passionate about environmental justice, health promotion, and sustainability. Her goal is to leverage communication strategies to advocate for environmental conservation and promote health initiatives for juvenile populations

Outside of work, Victoria loves reading a book with a big cup of coffee and being in nature with her family- camping, hiking, and kayaking around Michigan.
